The Research Behind the Research, is a new exhibition launching as part of Research Culture Week 2026 — a university wide celebration championing an inclusive, responsible and globally connected research culture.
Running from 15–23 May at The Stephen Lawrence Gallery, the exhibition celebrates the creative, technical and research enabling work of the technical support staff at Stockwell Street and Bathway. Often working behind the scenes, technicians play an essential role in shaping the university’s research environment. This exhibition brings their expertise to the forefront, revealing the innovation, problem solving and creative practice that underpin so much of the institution’s research output.
Showcasing a diverse range of work — The Research Behind the Research celebrates the people, processes and environments that make research possible and importantly showcases their own research. The exhibition aligns with Research Culture Week’s focus on People, Culture and Community, and highlights the university’s commitment to recognising the full breadth of contributors to its research ecosystem.
A private view will be held on Thursday, May 14th from 5pm until 8pm.
