Sound / Image Exhibition
An exhibition of works to coincide with the Sound Image colloquium taking place on the weekend of 7/8th November. Opening on Saturday 7th November, this exhibition will include works that explore the relationships between sound and image by Russell Duke, Andrew Hill, Jim Hobbs, Johannes Maier, Mairead McClean, Ulla Nolden, Fahrudin Salihbegovic, Julie Watkins, Jung in Jung, and Francesc Marti.
Among the works on show, the exhibition will feature Mairead Maclean’s film No More (2014), which won the the inaugural MAC International Ulster Bank Art Prize in October 2014 and is being shown in London for the first time. The film, uses of sounds and visuals from the past to re-investigate and re-view the events that reside in the artist’s memory. Also screening is Johannes Maier’s The Interpreters (2007), produced in collaboration with the European Commission interpreting service, which unravels the fascinating processes of constant translation and interpretation that occur there. Jim Hobbs will show his new piece: Nature Morte (2015). Two experimental audio-visual works, Speech 2 (2015), by Francesc Marti’s and Locus (2015) by Jung in Jung, are also presented.
The exhibition continues until 12th December.
